Yep, you heard that right: the vegetarian chick was beaten by a guy wearing a cheeseburger costume. But I am all sorts of OK with that. Yesterday was THE BEST DAY EVER (or at least thusfar). No wicked fast inhumanely processed flesh product is going to take that away from me 🙂
The ability to create full logical sentences has not yet returned (I lost it somewhere around Boston College) so I am relegated to giving you the picture-book version for now. Suffice it to say yesterday’s Boston Marathon—the BAA’s 115th and my first–was 26.2 miles of pure awesomeness.
While I missed hitting my sub-four goal by a skosh, I did not walk one teensy tinsy step of the way and I did not get escorted into the medical tent either 🙂 I am all sorts of thrilled with my extremely hard-earned 4:09:55 🙂 Without further adieu, here are a few pics!

Race announcer Andy Schachat was the first familiar face I saw after crossing the finish line 🙂 He had someone snap this pic right before he let me borrow his phone to find my fam
Chris,
Congratulations!!! I am so-o-o proud of you! (I even watched part of the marathon yesterday — for the first time in years!)
AWESOME!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I am so happy for you. What a great run you should be very proud of your effort. Now enjoy a couple of days of rest before you head off on your next great adventure.
Congratulations!
Woooooo-hooooo! You did it! You are a MARATHONER!
I was tracking #24777 on the internet yesterday through all the checkpoints, but I couldn’t watch the race live online because of those flippin’ international licensing agreements (or disagreements). You didn’t make 4:00, but you made it!
I don’t expect you to believe me, but when your cheeseburger title popped up on my screen, my husband was (kid you not) making himself a cheeseburger in the kitchen (which would not be strange if he were American, but a Spaniard?), and I am in the middle of an manuscript on gastric and airway reflux. Ha, ha!
Anyway, love the photos. Your dad and Lorie haven’t changed, and is that your little brother? Last time I saw him he was but a wee babe. Your girls look both very happy and proud of their Mummy.
Yeah, Chris! Congratulations!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
